- For a boy baby, provide a sky blue background on which your butterflies take flight.
- For a girl baby, incorporate pink butterflies or use pink paper.
- Consider if the shower features a certain type of butterfly, or an array of butterflies. Find or draw images to match.
- Using a template, trace and cut out a picture of a butterfly from cardstock. Glue the butterfly to the inside fold of the card. When the recipient opens it, the butterfly opens its wings. Have a picture of a cocoon on a twig on the front of the card with a verse that refers to the new baby coming out of the cocoon.
- Create a whimsical picture of a butterfly with a cute face, using clipart, a template or stamps.
- Combining clipart pictures, create a scene with a newborn babe, smiling and reaching out to butterflies overhead or being tickled by a butterfly.
- Create a spring scene featuring babies crawling and playing in a meadow with butterflies. A butterfly could land on one baby's hand or nose.
- Using a template cut each of your cards into the shape of a butterfly and then decorate.
