Giraffe Baby Shower Invitation

Stick Your Neck Out with Gorgeous Giraffes

Giraffes -- with their long legs and necks, sweet expressions, and big, brown eyes, they're just as much of a hit with grown-ups as they are with babies. A giraffe theme for a baby shower is a great choice. Creating giraffe baby shower invitations can be a fun adventure if you let your imagination lead the way. To help you get started on your card-making safari, here are a few ideas.

Consider whether you will use pictures depicting real-life giraffes or the plush toy variety. Both types can be found online in clipart and templates, or in craft and scrapbook stores represented in rubber stamps and stickers.

What sort of a giraffe would you like your invitations to feature? Searching online or browsing a card shop for pictures, clipart, and imagery may help you decide on the look of the giraffe and the type of picture you want to use. Here are some great ideas for ways in which you might incorporate a giraffe into your beautiful invitations:
  • On the front of the card, using clipart or crafting tools such as rubber stamps, a stencil, or colored pens, create a close-up picture of a giraffe's face with that sweet expression, inviting guests to the shower.
  • Combining clipart or manually produced pictures, create a scene with a mother and baby giraffe on the front of the card.
  • Baby giraffes are always cute. You could place a bib on the baby giraffe and a tree branch with yummy leaves overhead.
  • If the giraffe is on the front of the card, you can embellish it with ribbons and bows or make it sparkle with a glitter pen.
  • Put the giraffe's body on the front of the card with the neck reaching towards the edge of the page where you open the card, and then have the rest of the neck and the face appearing inside the card.
Consider your invitation's color scheme. Since newborns enjoy contrast and patterns, the giraffe's light orange and dark brown coat will be a sure hit with a baby. You may want to check with the mom on nursery colors and use them in the shower invitations to encourage gifts that match.

Once you have a basic idea of how you want your card to look, select your paper. If you are printing from your home computer printer, you will generally need a lightweight paper, such as one made out of cotton or recycled wood products. Templates can be used to cut the cards from printed designs or before manually crafting your invitations.
