Baby Shower Gag Gift

Find the Perfect Tongue-In-Cheek Gift for Your Upcoming Baby Shower

Having a baby is serious business, but having a baby shower doesn't have to be all business. Instead of the traditional gifts, consider having a little fun. You can easily and inexpensively make or buy a baby shower gag gift that will keep the mood light. Since more and more baby showers are becoming co-ed, think of Dad as well as Mom and baby when choosing your baby shower gift. Delicious Diaper A great gag baby shower gift is to take oversized napkins (or purchase disposable or clothl diapers) and place unwrapped chocolates inside. Tie the diapers or use blue or pink diaper pins. Have the mom-to-be (and guests too, if you'd like) open the diapers for a delicious surprise. E-Z Change Another fun idea is to give a Baby Changing Kit. Enclose a clothespin for the nose, industrial-strength gloves and a face mask. A popular choice for the dad-to-be! What a Funny Kid If you know the sex of the baby, buy a t-shirt proclaiming him or her the little prince or princess of the household. Search clothing stores or the Internet for funny or clever baby sayings, or add your own quote to a plain white t-shirt or onesie. Keeping Up with Baby One baby shower gag gift that will be a hit with most new parents is a huge bag of coffee to keep them perky during those 2 A.M. feedings. Add a couple of Dad and Mom mugs with humorous sayings on them to complete your gift. For Mom and Dad Buy a white t-shirt and use fabric paints or iron-on transfers to spell out "Got Sleep?" or other another humorous quote for the new parents to enjoy. For the dad-to-be, make a Baby Tool Belt. Buy an inexpensive tool belt. Add baby bottles, diapers, diaper cream, receiving blankets, pacifiers, and teething gel to the belt. For a variation on this gift, you can purchase or make an apron to use instead of the belt. The mom-to-be will appreciate a Great Escape basket. Place luxury bath items in a small basket, and be sure to include a rubber duckie, an eye mask, a romance novel and ear plugs! The Gift that Keeps On Giving Here's one lighthearted present that has a purpose. Write your phone number on a piece of paper with BABYSITTER written across the top. Place it in a simple photo frame and tape on a plastic play hammer or other item, then write "In Case of Emergency, Break Glass" in magic marker. Moms and dads-to-be will get a chuckle and will appreciate your offer. Comics for New Parents There are a number of hilarious comic strip collection books for new parents. Visit your local bookstore or check online to find anthologies that will lighten the mood when the going gets tough. Whatever your selections, remember that the idea is to get a gentle chuckle out of the new parents. Don't go overboard on your jokes and remember that not everyone's sense of humor is the same as your own. Try out your gag gift idea on a few friends before making your purchase or creating your gift. Remember, having a baby is a joyous occasion, but it does sometimes calls for patience and, naturally, a sense of humor.
